My Fuel Plan — last updated September 2026
This page explains what data My Fuel Plan collects, how it's used, and what stays on your own device. We've kept it accurate to what the app actually does, rather than generic boilerplate.
My Fuel Plan is operated by [YOUR LEGAL ENTITY OR TRADING NAME], the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at contact@my-fuelplan.com.
If you use the app without an account, your inputs — body weight, sport, workout duration, intensity, saved upcoming events, unit preference and similar settings — are stored only in your browser's local storage. They are sent to our servers transiently, in the single request needed to calculate your fuel plan, and that request is not logged or saved.
If you create an account, some of this becomes server-side: see below.
You can create an account with an email address and password. Accounts are optional — the fuelling calculator works without one — but they're required for saved plans, Strava integration and Premium features.
When you have an account, we store on our servers:
We keep this for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes it — see the data deletion page.
Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout page and are never sent to, seen by, or stored on our servers. We receive from Stripe only a customer identifier, a subscription identifier, your subscription status, and confirmation of whether and when a payment succeeded.
Stripe acts as an independent controller for the payment data it collects. Their privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads to understand how the app is used and whether our advertising works. These set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser.
What we measure is how the app is used, not what you weigh or eat. The events we record are actions such as: signing up, logging in, calculating a plan (along with the sport and duration), connecting Strava, starting a session, reaching a Premium feature, and starting a subscription or trial. Where a subscription starts we also send its value so we can tell which advertising is worth continuing.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, these cookies are switched off by default and nothing is stored or measured until you accept. You'll be asked when you first visit. Elsewhere they are on by default, and the same banner lets you refuse.
You can change your decision at any time from the Profile tab, under "Privacy". Refusing does not limit any feature of the app.
Google, as our analytics and advertising provider. Google may process it outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in their own terms. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
We use Sentry to be told when something in the app breaks. When an error occurs, Sentry receives the error message, a technical stack trace, the page you were on, and your browser and operating system version. We have deliberately switched off collection of IP addresses and cookies, so error reports are not tied to your identity.
Sentry also records a short session replay alongside errors — a reconstruction of what was on screen and what you clicked in the moments before the problem, so we can see what went wrong. Replays are captured only when an error occurs, never during normal use. They may include text you had typed into the app's own fields, such as a workout duration. Passwords are masked and never captured.
Our Sentry data is stored in the European Union and retained for 30 days, after which it is deleted automatically. Sentry's privacy policy is at sentry.io/privacy.
We send transactional and informational email through Resend, which processes your email address in order to deliver it. We send: password reset emails when you request one, a welcome email when you create an account, and a single email about Premium features if you reach one that is locked. We do not send marketing newsletters.
If you enable automatic alerts, we store your browser's push notification subscription details and the scheduled alert times and messages, only for as long as needed to deliver them — typically under 24 hours, after which they are deleted automatically.
Connecting Strava is entirely optional — the app works fully without it. If you do connect it, here is exactly what happens.
Two ways. First, when you tap "Analyze my last activity," we request that activity from Strava's API using your tokens. Second, if you have connected Strava, we subscribe to Strava's webhook notifications: when you complete an activity and it syncs to Strava, Strava notifies our server, and we then request that activity's details so a recovery plan is ready for you.
Your Strava tokens and athlete ID are stored on our servers, linked to your My Fuel Plan account. This is necessary for the automatic recovery plans described above — without a server-side copy, we could not act on Strava's notifications. Tokens are also held in your browser for features you trigger yourself.
Recovery plans generated from your activities are stored against your account and shown in your History tab. Each stored plan includes the activity name, sport, duration, and the calculated nutrition targets.
Only you. Strava data belonging to your account is never shown to any other user of My Fuel Plan, and we do not share it with anyone.
You can disconnect Strava at any time from the Profile tab, under "Connected apps." Disconnecting immediately deletes your stored Strava tokens and athlete ID from our servers, and we confirm this on screen when it completes. After disconnecting, we can no longer access your Strava account, and Strava stops sending us notifications about your activities.
You can also revoke our access directly from Strava at strava.com/settings/apps.
Recovery plans generated from Strava activities can be deleted individually using the delete icon on each entry in your History tab. Deleting your My Fuel Plan account removes all of them, along with your tokens and athlete ID. See our data deletion page for full instructions.
If you tap "Use my local weather," your device's location is sent to our server, which passes it straight on to our weather data provider, Open-Meteo, and returns the temperature and humidity. We do this so that our Open-Meteo API key stays on the server rather than being exposed in your browser. Your coordinates are used for that single lookup and are never stored, written to our database, or kept in our logs.
If you use the Strava-based recovery feature, your activity's location (as recorded by Strava) is sent from our server to Open-Meteo to look up historical weather for that session. This is not stored either.

If you are in the UK or the EEA you have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. You can also withdraw consent at any time without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
Email contact@my-fuelplan.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your national data protection authority in the EEA.
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes we'll update this page and the date at the top. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we'll tell you in the app or by email rather than relying on you to notice.
